What we store, and how to change it
This page explains what the site keeps in your browser and what tracking, if any, runs while you visit. You can change your choice at any time below.
A quick plain-English version
Cookies and similar browser storage are small bits of data a website saves on your device. Some are needed for the site to work at all (like remembering you clicked "accept" on this banner). Others help us count visits or improve the experience. We keep ours to a minimum and we don't sell your data.
Essential storage (always on)
These are required for the site to function and can't be turned off:
- Your cookie choice — saved in your browser's local storage so the banner doesn't follow you around.
- Basic session and UI state — keeps forms, navigation, and page state working as you click around.
Analytics (opt-out)
Our hosting platform records anonymous, aggregated visit data so we can see which pages families actually read and where the site is confusing. Specifically:
- Page views, referring site, and how long a page was open.
- Rough device type (mobile vs. desktop) and browser.
- Country-level location derived from your IP — never a precise address.
We do not use advertising cookies, do not run third-party marketing pixels, and do not try to identify you across other websites. If you opt out below, we record your choice and stop counting your visits in aggregate stats.
Embedded content
A few pages embed content from other services (for example a YouTube video on the Experience page or a map on Contact). When those load, the embedded service may set its own cookies under its own policy. We only embed what's needed for the page to be useful.
Your choice
Choose whether anonymous analytics may run for you. The default is allowed; opting out takes effect immediately and is remembered in your browser.
How to clear it yourself
You can also clear this site's data from your browser settings (Privacy & Security → Site data). That will remove the saved choice above and the banner will reappear on your next visit.
